Henry Jacobson began his career as a documentary cinematographer and still photographer, transitioning into directing, producing, and writing. In 2013 he partnered with filmmaker Emma Tammi to create Mind Hive Films to take their combined experience into new scripted and unscripted collaborations for Film and TV. His narrative feature directorial debut, Bloodline (Blumhouse/Eone), was released in 2019. In that year Mind Hive also released The Wind (IFC) and Jay Myself (doc feature, Oscilloscope).

 

Previous documentary features include Election Day: Lens Across America (Blumhouse / EPIX / Hulu), Fair Chase (Netflix), Fambul Tok (SXSW / EPIX / Netflix)), Folk (DOC NYC), A Snake Gives Birth to a Snake (Best Doc, Santa Barbara Film Fest).


A partial list of publications featuring his still photography includes the New York Times, New Yorker, Time, Interview, Zink, Marie Claire, and The Hollywood Reporter. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York, Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles, the Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW), and in private galleries both in the US and abroad. Daylight Books published his first book, Postcards Home, in 2013, and he has curated exhibitions and given lectures and interviews on the evolution of photography through the use of smartphones and social networks. 


He holds a BA from Hampshire College and an MFA from The Oxford School of Drama. He lives in Los Angeles, where he grew up, with his wife and children.
